ESS products include a measurement based micro grid controller and related software
applications. The products are used to control the loads and sources inside micro grids as well as
the connection between the micro grid and the electric power utility. The focus of the product is
renewable sourced microgrids although it will work with any type of fuel.

ESS offers small communities, industrial centers and commercial building complexes a turnkey
microgrid hardware and software system that typically provides the following results:
(1) 20 percent reduction in carbon emissions
(2) 20 percent increase in efficiency of delivering power to critical services in the community
(3) 98 percent reduction in power outages to critical facilities in the community

ESS accomplishes this by aggregating local load and distributed sources into microgrids that can
seamlessly switch in/out of the power grid in less than ten cycles. The system is capable of
integrating 100 percent solar PV, 100 percent electric vehicles and their respective charging
stations, batteries and other renewable sources (hydro and biofuel cells) into an energy surety
system providing uninterruptable power to critical loads inside the microgrid while providing a
rapid financial return to the owner.

The system includes proprietary measurement devices to implement the control system. Standard commercial relays are used to operate breakers inside the system. The new measurement based systems include easy to install high speed time synchronized measurements of voltage and current magnitude and angles. This information is used in real time to optimize the performance of the system and respond to external disturbances.

One of the commercial drivers for increasing use of microgrids is based on recommendations in
the recent USA National Climate Assessment report released on May 6, 2014. The policies presented will help mitigate climate change. Our goal is to deliver carbon free microgrids while
providing frequency and voltage support when connected to the area power system at the lowest
possible cost to the end user. Other ancillary services to the area power system are included.

ESS’s basic result-oriented products include:

(1) Commercial building microgrids
A turnkey system than includes, rooftop solar, battery, other energy source such as micro turbine or fuel cell and HVAC3 Agent control system and a curtailment contract with local Utility companies. Ancillary services would also be sold including local frequency regulation, voltage regulation, under frequency load shed, power export control. The ROI is from the services contract with the utility, per FERC Order 755 (Pay for performance). The services offered to the Utility could include: instantaneous curtailment, load shedding, under frequency load shedding, autonomous frequency control and local voltage control. The system includes the UBET4 notification system that uses the data model of the building HVAC system to automatically send emails to the building facility manager when the energy performance of a room exceeds standards. This advice is expected to lower the overall building energy consumption by 5 to 10 percent.

(2) Battery control systems
An energy storage and control system will be offered. This will be connected directly to a four quadrant inverter supporting control discharging and charging of the battery into a microgrid or the area power system. The control system will include the new wireless PMUs and the decoupled frequency and voltage controller. The goal is to sell into the emerging mandated energy storage market with added feature of ESS decoupled control technology. The system would autonomously regulate local frequency and voltage by simultaneously adjusting real and reactive power flow from the battery.
(2)电池控制系统

(3) Transformer condition monitoring system
The ESS PMUs will be packaged into a turnkey system. This could be sold by Doble5, or
could be sold by the new company. The cash flows projected in the business plan assume
that this product will be sold by the new company. The system computes the real time
complex impedance across each of the coils in the transformer and the cross coupling.
System could be leased with remote monitoring and alerts provided by the new company.
(3) 变压器状态监测系统
